I am not sure if you can see this real well, but can you tell me what the red flower is?

I found the tag from the package. I planted a Karl Rosenfield peony bulb probably in 2009 or 2010, so the red flower is solved.

I dug it up last year. It was planted out in an odd spot in the yard and DH and kids would mow it down every year. For some reason I thought it was a blanket flower because I had planted one of those. I dug it up and since nobody mowed it down it bloomed and had the red flowers last year. Now I have to move it again this year because it will be too big and really not enough sun there. Thank you! I checked and it is a peony.

We used to have the same peony you have there. It used to come up every spring and bloom, then I would just mow it down until the next spring. We relandscaped our back yard about 10 years ago, we dug it up and separated it and planted it at my MILs house it's still going strong. I think I will go over and get a start from it and bring it back to its origional home.

Peony. They like to be just below the surface. Keep the red part of the stems in the light so yo have good bloom. They like sun and around here they need limestone.

Red part of the stem just above the surface, I will do. I have another one that is pink that my DD picked out that is in a pot and I have to plant that one too.
