@canesisters We're still in SA, but not for too much longer. We decided last week Monday to sell our farm here and got an offer the next day! We signed the sale agreement yesterday and as soon as it's processed (±2 months) we'll be moving back to Ireland again.
@Nyboy Can we swap? Just for a day or two, you can come cool down here and I'll go thaw by you. This flat of ours gets no sun and we have nothing but a small electric heater to take the edge off in the evenings. It's wonderful in summer, when our daytime highs average 120*F and more, but right now I don't like these trees blocking our sun!

As much as I despise winter I would pick 32 over 120, but brrr... especially when you're accustomed to a hot climate.
We have a lot of these Meadowhawk dragonflies right now, perhaps they could work a bit harder on the mosquito population. They seem to like the hydrangea.
And a moth on the house ... with a surprise bonus bug I didn't see when I took the photo ...
I have live-trapped a few chipmunks and relocated them but this one was so funny. It kept climbing on the frog to check out the roses. I'm not sure if it was finding bugs there, but it wasn't damaging the rose blooms. Or maybe he was just stopping to smell the roses...

Those are great Lavender, I love the chipmunk boosting himself up on the frog. Funny!

I am probably easily entertained ...
... but yesterday I foiled the squirrels by hanging a feeder on a tall shepherds hook, sprayed the pole with cooking spray ... ever seen a rodent slide down a firepole ...
