I'm sure someone has asked this before but can you freeze tomatoes? I have Romas that I am planning on cutting in half, coring and seeding then placing in a zip top bag to freeze. Should I skin them too? What will the texture be when I defrost them, mushy or firm?
Thanks for any help and advice you can give!

Yes you can. All I did was wash them well and then core them and put them in freezer bags making sure to get as much of the air out as possible. When you take them out to use them hold the tomato under warm water and the skin will slide off, chop and enjoy in your recipes.

Hi--I wash, core and then chop them with the skins left on. They are very juice and soft when I thaw them, but I only use this method for soups and saucy things anyway. Good luck!
