A few of my Musquee de Provence pumpkins lined up on the deck to cure.
First ripened, first chopped (maybe chopped a little early, but I was excited to see how they tasted).
And these are the offspring from a New England Pie pumpkin x Black Beauty (Black Magic?) zucchini. Not intentional, just the only C. pepo s grown in the garden last year. The long green one is now a beautiful orange with dark green "webbing"/netting.
I've got many more, but not of a variety that you haven't seen in this post.

Seedobsessor- Your Musquee de Provence look like what I grow called Rumbo. One of my favorites for roasting as a vegetable and making into pie.

Oh you guys are always making me jealous I so wish I had the space to grow pumkins for the kids. Think how much fun that would be!

Does it take much to grow the itty bitty ornamental ones? Maybe just a few feet of ground and a trellis???? (never grown them, have no idea)

Mary - do you grow zucchinis? There are bush varieties of pumpkin out there like "Cheyenne Bush" from the SSE and a Russian variety (who's name I'm not going to bother to try to spell from memory) from Victory Seeds. Shouldn't take up more room than a zucchini plant.

@ninnymary , you could grow those little gourds that look like mini pumpkins. You can trellis them to save space and they are so cute. My kids were given a couple that were decorations from a church dinner and they have carried them around and played with them for days.

Marry- If you have a fence you can grow a few plants on it. They love a fence. Just bring the pumpkin to the ground when it forms , or give it a netting to keep it from breaking the vine.
