I do read all posts. When I come to TEG, I click on 'New Posts'. Then I click on 'Go To First Unread'. That takes me past all the prior postings on a thread to just where I left off. I can always scroll back if I've forgotten a post, but usually I can move on from there.

I also have most of my "Alerts" disabled. Since I do read all posts -- or skip individual posts if I want to -- I don't feel the need for alerts about being tagged, or watched, replies, likes, or quotes. I will always see those in the new posts. I do get alerts for conversations and new trophy points.

I do really appreciate all the work behind the scenes that went into making this site such a friendly easy (relatively) place to be -- even for a dinosaur.

Like most people -- especially as we age -- I don't like changes. I don't dislike them if I see a usefulness, but just to be changing? Nope! For that reason I feared Nifty would be moving TEG on to a site that someone with my little brain could not follow.

Patience and persistance and a lot of help from ya'll made the move far better than I had envisioned and I am grateful to Nifty for the changes. I am grateful to all the support staff for keeping the site friendly and safe. My only complaint? How come @canesisters gets all the best-est emoticons? Why aren't they here for me to use? Teasing, of course. This site is just right.

Thanks Cane! I saved the "slap" to a file so could I edit my post and whack Mary, but I got an error message that I couldn't use it. :(

Maybe TEGs gone non-violent...

I've never used that Member's recent activity link before, Steve. I think I've really gotten settled in my ways as to how I use the site; I very rarely detour long enough to check out some of the other features.

Heck, I've had my cell phone for about 5 years now (NOT a smartphone) and finally figured out how to use ZiAbc texting (it guesses what letter you meant to type, based on the next buttons you type, so that you don't have to sit there and push the same button 3 or 4 times to get the letter you wanted. Then it gives you a short list of the most probable words that correspond with that combination.) Mind-blowing for me!

LOL I'm sure I would have figured it out sooner, if I'd just taken the time to look at it.

And it's pretty much the same here. I don't really have a lot of time to explore beyond what is already working for me. I am able to get on almost every day, so I just check the "Recent Posts" tab and go down the list.

I think we are a bit more active on here than we used to be (or quite possibly I am a lot busier than I used to be,) because anymore I find I am not able to read all of the posts anymore, but just skim over to the ones that interest me most. I'll come back to the others, if they were particularly active (gotta stick my nose in there, LOL), once I have the time later. Sometimes that may be weeks later though, especially when the garden is in full swing!

I can type about as fast a I can think, or else I probably wouldn't get much talking in either.
