I noticed the other day in a geranium plant that I am overwintering, a brown tree frog has made himself at home. I guess he was hiding in the pot when I brought them in last fall, and has stayed alive somehow. I started leaving meal worms for him in a jar lid, but it didn't take long for them to crawl out and into the soil. Finally today I saw the little frog sitting on the lid, and the worm gone just a minute after I put it in. So glad he is eating. I'll try to get a pic.

It seems to take very little to amuse me lately.

I love tree frogs! I had some in garden at old house, hope I have some here! Just too cool to overwinter one in the house!

I love frogs, he is cold blooded and may not need to eat. Many cold blood creatures go whole winter without eating. Funny to me because I can't go half day with out eating.

That just shows you're not cold blooded, Nyboy!
I wondered about the hibernation aspect, but since it is about 70* in the basement, I was thinking maybe he wouldn't hibernate. I hope I don't upset his life cycle by trying to keep him alive. How ironic. :\

70 pretty warm might want to offer some water on jar lid. He knows what he doing, enjoy having him and think of all the bugs he will eat in your garden.

So of course the frog refused to pose when he found out a photo was expected. I found him snubbing me with his face in the dirt today. Thought I would try again with the camera, then put the plant outside to give him a chance to get away. It's supposed to be above freezing at night now for at least a week.
