Here in Tucson we have a program where you can go and get 60lbs of produce for $10.00 every week. My neighbor got a couple flats of tomatoes one week this last winter. She shared a flat of them with me. I made tomato jam.
Just for grins I took the seeds and threw them out where my chicken coop used to be... And I believe about every seed sprouted! I thinned them out and now have quite a few plants. I do hope they will produce some tomatoes!

As long as the plants look healthy, you should get a harvest from them. I always have a few come up in the compost pile each year, but they don't live long enough before the first frost to ripen any tomatoes for me.
