I know poor lion, but shows how powerful a bull is

Dad told story of "pet" Jersey bull who gored his owner to death at county fair. I would never trust a bull with any of my children. Steer yes, bull no.

We had a Holstein, with one front leg tied up, would get down on her knees to kick her hobbles off during milking. Dad finally tied up that front leg, then tied the opposite back leg to the wall - stretching her out good. Of course she fell when we touched her udder. Loosen the ropes, let her stand again. She only needed the ropes a few more times and never chose to fall and make a fool outta herself again.

Yikes Steve. That made me hurt reading that! My dad bought our first milking goat at an auction. She had just been some sort range goat and had never had her kids taken and been hand milked before.
I was the default family milkmaid, and to say that she resented her new role was a huge understatement.

Even with her head locked in the stanchion she managed to jump and buck and kick and flail. With both legs tied back she managed to pee or poop in the milk bucket nearly every milking for that first year, and my hands were bruised and swollen from getting kicked. Looking back I'm not sure why dad kept her around, he was not usually so forgiving of those kinds of antics.

BAD IDEA ... Jersey bulls are well known for their ill temper... Sooner or later that Jersey bull WILL behave badly and send someone to the hospital or the cemetery.

heh, i it was one of my hens and i wasn't quick enough to get out of the coop with them she's be fighting me to get them back.
