Can all thyme hold up to light foot traffic, or is there a certain variety for paths ? The walkway to my front door has a small space where pavers meet cement steps. Weeds always pop up in this space, I am hopping if I plant thyme there it would help block out weeds. None of my friends use this door, so it gets very light use.

That is a perfect spot for thyme. I have it in the shade garden path where the kids go through there and trample it. It has held up pretty good. (The thyme is towards the front path where the sun hits.) It is english thyme that I got in a 6-pack from Home Depot.

Love that area. It could use a nice cobalt blue pot with flowers. ;)

NYboy, see if you can find Elfin thyme. It's super compact and very drought tolerant too, (not that you necessarily need drought tolerant.) I have several thymes growing in the stones I set for reaching my hose spigot and the Elfin is my favorite.

Beautiful entryway @Nyboy !

I like the look of green in the cracks but it makes it hard to remove snow, if you have to.
We put in a new patio this year and found a weed blocking, paver locking sand. It's polymer based and suppose to prevent weeds and resist bugs. I can't review how good it works yet, but it seems highly recommended.
