Getting mugged on the street and someone breaking in to your home are very different. NYC getting mugged is very real and can happen any time. I know if mugged they could have my wallet and car keys without a fight. Breaking in to my home would make me more likely to defend myself .

I don't think I'd shoot someone over stuff...and maybe not even if they tried to harm me in any way~there's really not much they can do to me that hasn't already been done at one time or another except kill me and that's not something I mind either. Might do so if they tried to hurt my family, though, but still might not even then...depends on the situation. It's a big decision to take a life.

Scared folks carrying guns is an iffy prospect....jumpy and fearful just don't go well with carrying a gun.

Sometimes we don't know what we'll do in a certain situation if we have never been pushed there. I think it's good to decide before the situation arises what your best response should be.
I have been in a situation where hesitation would have led to a loved ones injury, and I didn't have to weigh the pros and cons.

I personally will absolutely not hesitate to protect my loved, and even liked, ones if harm is intended. If somebody comes toward them with malice I will be happy to meet them more than halfway. No equivocation here.

I for one do not intend on being mugged for any thing I have especially if my kids are with me when or IF it goes down. Otherwise I have no reason to have a gun

In defense of home, self or family, I will not hesitate to kill if need be.The situation determines the response. Come in my home, your dead, no questions asked, and no warnings given. Attack my wife or kids, same thing. I catch you breaking in, and you're not yet a threat, you have a good chance of walking away (The Tost boy is evidence of that, since he is still alive.) Try to mug me, I'll kill you if I can get to my gun. I have absolutely no intentions of being a victim. I'll use my gun in defense of others too, if the need were to ever arise.

Training, training, training. Well trained folks aren't "scared folks". They are confident and responsible.

As Dew said, why carry a gun if you've no intention of using it if needed.

She's learning. Here's Dew at the range. She's showing a lot of improvement in weapon control. She's not ready for a scoring round yet, but she soon will be.
