I still can't believe that I wasn't able to start ANYTHING this year. Work has been insane, we went on an 11 day vacation, and lots of events for nieces/nephews. But on a brighter note, a small family run farm in my hometown will reopen this year to sell their own started plants. They don't purchase from wholesale companies- everything they sell is planted by them. I am happy to support local, but it still bums me out that I wasn't able to start anything. Oh well, here is to a fruitful (and busy) season! Hopefully I can get out and dig in the dirt for a little bit soon.

I'm a week behind on starting my tomatoes and peppers. Hopefully I will get a couple hours to work on it later this week or else I'm going to have to buy mine too. I guess store bought tomato plants are still better than store bought tomatoes!

HPQ! You're in a cooler planting zone than I am and March 15th is the suggested day for starting tomatoes and peppers (8 weeks 'til planting) here in zone 5. Not saying you shouldn't patronize the local folks, but it's not too late if you want to start seeds.

March 15th is a perfect date for our zone. My seeds were started on March 15th and less than four weeks later I am starting to harden them off. That said, I would not hesitate for one minute to start seeds today if I had to. I love baby pictures.

I know what you mean, jackb. My tomatoes are just starting to spread out their true leaves toward the sun. Finally, sun in the forecast for Monday through Friday at least. I've had it with this wind and rain, snow, sun pellets, flakes, rain, sun, sleet, and whatever from the past few days.

We had the same crappy weather @Smart Red, and it is still below normal. We got a half of foot of snow and I had to break down and start the snow blower. I was hoping to make it through the whole winter without having to start it. Well, I guess I did as it was spring when we got the snow.
