While in college, I worked for vet. Client brought their boxer in to board. I use to go out and play with him at nights. Cool dogs. The ones with severe under bite are nasty.

a friend of mine has a sweet little female boxer they got a year before my wedding. i made a little blanket for her out of some of my wedding gown's blue material. she loved it & used to carry it around with her to sleep on. i remember her as a pup & she was always wiggly in the hind end when i would visit but soon calm down & just intensely stare at me hoping i would play with her.

@Nyboy how big would you say this pup is right now? 40lbs or more? she looks bigger than a normal boxer in those pics.

Bless you for helping this dog. There are NOT enough cuss words that I can use to describe "pedigree" dog breeders today. They create so much pain to such a noble animal.
In the meantime, IF you can make the time, she could use a choke chain FOR TRAINING ONLY!!! and be taught many short lessons every day in "sit...stay."
Since I moved to the country I do not have to leash my dogs and they Stay within the 5 acres. I control them with my voice and EVERY TIME somebody pulls in or out of the driveway I DEMAND that my dog or dogs sit next to me and wait. I don't consider myself a terrific dog trainer, but many people are impressed with my dogs and their obedience.
Dogs CRAVE work. When they don't have a job they go crazy. Horses are very much the same that way.
Oh, and don't forgot to lavish lots of praise! I think one good week of training and she will turn around. She acts like she is lost and doesn't know how to find her way.
Again, bless you!!!! :hugs :hugs :hugs

First thing I notice with the picture, the dog is outside. They hate being an outside dog. I have heard so many stories about how bad they are after they have tore a house up and went through a glass window. They only do this if left alone. They want to be part of a family. I have had a boxer in my family most of my life. My dad was blind, so always had a boxer for a Seeing Eye dog. My dad trained a big boxer to be a seeing eye that he got from a farmer. He killed chickens, dug holes, and played with teenage boys. He was rough and did the jumping, but he turned out to be a really nice dog. The pictures below are 3 different dogs. The dog with the face closeup picture was a pet and not a seeing eye, and I had another one that we had when my kids were little. His name was Haggler. The dog by the car with my dad was his first dog, Major. The other picture with my dad is Duke, the dog that came from the a farm, and the closeup face is Major, named after the first Major. They and amazing dogs. I have friends that had a boxer and they left him in the house alone. He tore it up and went through the window. I saw one on craigslist where a woman was having a fit. The dog was left in the bathroom when they went to work. Came home and he had destroyed this room, the door, and then the rest of the house. Her husband had just got the dog and she could not believe somebody would sell him a dog like that. At 1 year, they can be nuts.

When Major was a year old, he started digging. We could not keep him in a fence if we were not outside with him. He got where he would leave the yard after digging out. He almost got hit by a car. The car slammed on brakes, honking at him. He ran home and then got in trouble from me and my brother and then he never left the yard again. He lived to be 13. They are so stubborn, but if allowed to be part of a family or always with someone, they are amazing. When Major was 6 months old, he wanted to go to town with me and I told him no. When I came home, he had a pile of my clothes, my pillow, my sheets off my bed, and a hole in my favorite shirt. I could not believe it, and when I went to my room, he had pooped on my bed. This dog was housebroke when 6 weeks old. My parents and brother were home. No reason he did this other than to get even with me. When I saw my room, I turned around and he was running as fast as he could go to get to my mother to save him. Lol A lot of people would never have put up with this, but he never did it again, but I knew he could not be left alone. Years later, we had Haggler and he was about 6 months old and DH and I took DD to town, and left Haggler home. He did a smaller version of this, but we never left him alone at home again.

Boxer checked in Sunday night have not seen it stop moving once, leaps up at you nonstop needs home.

We left Haggler at a vet once when we went on a trip. He did this. Never stopped moving, and tore his face up pushing on door of pen trying to get out. With us, he was a calm couch potato, but when put in a kennel or away from us, he was hyper.

Agree. Boxers are working dogs and need a job or family. They HAVE to be told they are
good. This white boxer looks very lost and upset. Some dogs just bark, some dogs do not eat, but boxers CAUSE TROUBLE.

After reading this thread, glad I didn't get a boxer.

While I get upset with puppy mills, more upset with dog owners who don't fix their dogs and multiply mutts and start giving them away knowing half or more will go to bad homes. Too many love puppies, then don't know how to train them. Then they chain them outside or worse.

I ADORE boxers!!!!
This poor little girl could have SUCH a bright future if she is found by the right family.
I'm glad that she is safe and in such good hands right now.
Does the rescue do training and placement tests?

She is big I think more like 50 pounds. She is in a outside run to go to bathroom. This time of year I have a big fear of heat stroke, 85 or above dogs only outside few minutes. it is a lot more work, but I rather dogs go outside every 2 hours for short time rather then have them out for hour or 2. The woman who dropped her off was in a rush I didn't get much infor on dog. She said she would call me Monday still waiting for her call. Duck I just don't have the time for training lessons with her. July and Aug are my busiest times at kennel.
