Hello from the North Carolina mountains

I live near the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, after spending most of my life outside Philadelphia, PA. The climate zone is just a little warmer here, Zone 6B/7A. I have been here a little over 20 years and love it. I live on a north slope with woods on the east and south sides, this gives me very little full sun areas. I had a pretty clean slate here and have planted a lot of native and nonnative trees, shrubs and perennials. I especially like the woodland growers, have a number of trillium species, ferns and the native azaleas. I seem to want more plants than my budget allows so I am getting into starting things [ woodland perennials ] from seed. I have a rock garden that I constructed in a sunny spot and am having good success with plants that have to have excellent drainage. Look forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome again CoveLady, glad you joined. Your property sounds beautiful. I have just a few trilliums, but am really starting to love them. My mom had them all over her small yard, tucked under ferns and rhodies.
We'd love to see some of your favorites. :)

I love rock garden. But the climate does not allow me to make it very diverse. I'll be glad to see your garden.

Seed is cheap. Keep at it and you will have a garden full of plants. If you are new to this addiction you can never satisfy your lust for MORE PLANTS.

Welcome, Cove Lady! :frow I lived in SW Virginia for a few years and enjoyed hiking parts of the AT in the Blue Ridge mtns there. Miss it so much. We love pics here, so any you want to share of the beauty surrounding you, we'll look forward to. :)
