one of my favorite local nurseries/farm stops will take plastic pots like this. she cleans & reuses them when she starts her plants for the season. i also reuse a lot of my own pots i've collected over the years.

I have had that problem leaving them in the sunshed through the summer ..!

It is a good idea, Ducks'. They can usually last just fine for several years - but not forever ;).

I wonder about not "nesting" them in the donation bins. That would be a very light load.

My DH would wish that I'd recycle most of mine. There's a little resentment there for how much space my garden stuff takes up in his garage. :p

Those puppies are expensive to buy, so I save and reuse until they break too.

That's a great idea.

The nurseries I use will all take back the one gallon and up pots. The transfer station also has a nursery pot recycling bin.
Nobody (nurseries) seems to want the 4 and 6 cell packs or the smaller 4" pots, but I think some of them can go in the household plastic recycling bins.

I usually have a spectacular collection of nursery pots stacked neatly in my "materials" pile. Aka junk storage. I have a few friends who those have come in handy for when they were splitting perennials and renovating/moving beds around. But usually when I suddenly notice my stockpile has gotten alarmingly huge I take them back to one of the nurseries.
