Is Acid A Food Preservative ?

I just add a slice of lemon or lime, juice squeezed into the glass. When I think the slices are starting to get a little water logged I just peel and eat the slice. I think this way it doesn't matter because it won't spoil in one day. I often put other fruit in my glass in the a.m. too and after a few glasses of water I just eat the fruit.

As for the question is acid a preserver then pickles come to mind. Like Steve, I don't think the acid would be acid enough to make much difference.

You could always skip the chemical contamination worries and just add lemon essential oil to your water ;)

Just make sure it says 'Therapeutic Grade' and is safe to take internally. Many EOs are full of nasty stuff and are for 'aromatherapy' only
.... which is weird since breathing them in IS taking them internally...
I like "Citrus Fresh" from Young Living in my water
