Yesterday, about 3:45 in the afternoon, I was driving to my wife's office to pick her up in old town section of downtown Vancouver, Wa. ... I had a green light behind other motorists when 2 teenagers , one on a skate board with hearing impairment in the form of music spouting ear phones, rode right in front of me at full speed from the narrow sidewalk where buildings are right on the side walk with NO visibility to oncomming side traffic, as I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES with another teenager with the same hearing impairment drove right behind the skateboarder TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS to their suroundings. As I made my brake squeeling stop within a foot or two of doing major bodily harm to them, they just kept on going. Makes one whant to burn down the old side by side old town buildings and have malls built in their place. AND ban manufacture of all SKATE BOARDS, BICYCLES AND EAR PHONES not to mention ALL CELL PHONES . 
Scary times. I see some crazy hair raising things almost daily while driving a school bus. Usually someone passing me in a no passing zone then having to dive back in as there is oncoming traffic. The oncoming traffic and I hit our brakes and swerve! They drive on like no problem!
