Yesterday we laid paper feed sacks in the trellis and covered them with mulch.

Nice looking tomatoes @pale towodi !!! :thumbsup Don't let @seedcorn see them or he will have one of those snowed-in Nawtherner fits!

I'm going to use paper feed sacks, cardboard and wood chip mulch in the garden to smother out weeds and add humus.

As far as the mulch mountain, we will spread a lot of it on our sand and use it to add humus, maybe someday we'll have decent pasture for the sheep.

@baymule I use my feed sacks to knock out the weeds too.
Just make sure to separate the plastic layer out of your sacks:thumbsup

Bay speaking of fertilizer how is the new horse working out ? Has your granddaughter been riding him yet ?
I just updated his thread. She spent the weekend with us last weekend, but I could barely walk. I stepped in a hole with my right foot, went down with all my weight on my left knee, rolled around in the dirt screaming in agony, laid there, then got up and hobbled back to the house. :he So no horse riding last weekend. :( DH has been driving me around in the Kawasaki Mule. A couple of days ago, I could finally get around. The horse is at the neighbor's, whose place backs up to ours, so she could go "visit" him. LOL
