My sister in law is in Texas this weekend, participating in the Iron Man Triathlon today. :weee
I am so proud of her, but I just find that unfathomable. Biking for 120 or so miles? Swimming for 2.6(?) miles? Running for 26 miles? All in one day? Ever? No, not me. I do good to make it to the burn pile and back.
Their whole family is exceptional. It is good, they take up the slack that the rest of us leave.

Well, that's one way to think of it.

:D

I was just thinking about the pain I experience walking down the backsteps, something I've done about 12 times this morning. No, I didn't slip off the bottom one again because of the frost ;). Even coasting out to move flats in & out of water this AM counts as exercise ... soon enuf today, I'll be out moving wet soil with a shovel. Oy!

And, I brag all the time about these sorts of things! Let's hear it for So Lucky's Iron Woman SIL! Let's here it for So Lucky dragging and piling branches!

That is exceptional. A lot of time and hard work goes into the preparation for an Ironman.
I hope she does well, and congratulations to her.

I had a client that did it one year. He pretty much had to neglect his family and friends for most of a year while he conditioned himself. He made a good showing somewhere around the middle of the pack, although I think that even if you were dead last, that would rate commendation. He said it was a good experience, but he wouldn't want to do it again, mostly because of the devotion you have to give to getting ready.

Boy, was I tired by the time she finished at 15:34 hours or thereabouts. We were able to live stream it at the finish line. Which was amazing due to our poor band width here. But it worked.
My hat is off to her and all the other contestants.:clap
