I don't believe in karma...but I do appreciate the irony of a hunter becoming the hunted~and I come from a long, long line of hunters and think hunting is necessary for many, many reasons...even in Africa. Chances of a big game hunter being devoured by big game~especially in Africa~ are pretty high, so it's not too surprising.

Horrible way to go, though.

I have no problem with someone hanging a head if the rest of it is in the freezer. killing some thing when no one will eat it like lion or leopard is different.

I'm four square against hanging heads. Been dusting those miserable things all my life. Tan a hide, make a rug at least....something useful and beautiful. Even a skull mount is preferable to stuffed animals hanging out of the walls looking at you all the time. o_O At least a skull mount has some artistry to it, some pathos, at least....but fully alert deer sticking halfway out of the wall is just creepy. And a huge dust collector.

Though I've been subject to it all my life, I'm just not a fan of decorating with dead animals. Eating them, I love....but decorating with them? Ick.

Even canned hunts have their place in the overall view of things. No, not very sportsman like, but if people with lots of money want to collect heads, so be it. Most of these type hunts give the meat to the surrounding villages, thus feeding the poor. Not condemning or condoning.

@Beekissed i'm with you-I don't want some big thing on the wall collection dust either. It just makes more work for me and I'm not interested.

Getting eaten by crocs-not my choice of a way to go. But if that is one's lifestyle, one would recognize that it comes with certain risks.
