Well, I just may have an incling as to know the difference between a Quarter horse and a "mustang" . I worked with dozens of the "mustangs" rounded up from the open range in Montana and Wyoming by the BLM and brought to a major University Veterinary Pathology Dept. . Wild as could be, several even attached our staff. Three even had ranch brands on them and were traced to be QH mares stolen by ferral stallions and had foals at side. About 15% showed draft horse characheristics and massive size . I also was in. the horse breeding business for profit for 38 years. As a hunter and fisherman , I have seen the damage to the environment and the native animal species all over the West due to the overpopulations of the ferral horses.

No, he's not puffing, the man knows his horses. He has a different opinion from you and that's ok. All of us on this forum don't always agree.
I belong to several Facebook horse slaughter sites. Many of the kill buyers select the better horses and put them up for the public to buy. There are some mighty fine horses that are in kill lots that don't belong there. Some are registered with their papers. Our latest horse came from a slaughter pen, we bought him from a lady who rehabs them.

This is true~but you can learn~the narrow picture you have from way back and you added bs don't reflect the true picture~ we live on the range~living in a city it's easy to talk the world of knowledge~Yes~look at the big picture rather than talking~you'v been to china so you know it all~Isolated long time ago knowledge is a poor place to stand and judge a creature that may match or exceed```

The Mustang a horse brought here by the Spanish hundreds of years ago, female horse at times joined band of Spanish horses the result, the Mustang~in some areas the Mustang is so like the Spanish breed or so like each other they are a breed unto themselves
The Mustang around here a pretty pure looking beautiful and can be recognized by those who admire them.
Lucine has that look~
In Isolated areas there are band locals believe to be pure examples of the breed brought by the Spanish all those many years ago~

There is a book a series: The Phantom Stallion by Terri Farley~we met her once at the Reno Rodeo```
Wife read the book to us, a few chapters at a time~it's pretty good~don't know if people read book any more~it's a good read for a family```it was set out here```
