Wow, that had to be an experience. Your girls never cease to amaze me. I can't wait to hear what they do when they grow up. :)

How long did she keep it and what did it eat? We're there any precautions she had to take for safety?

I rehabbed a baby squirrel several years ago. Had to feed him every 3 hours as a baby. Your eagle would have my squirrel for lunch...

He, the eagle was just here a week or two, he'd just eaten, I think, a rabbit and was well fed~she just provided water.
As far as protection I think she used a blanket~but he still grabbed her leg and put a talon into her.

She was about ready to take him to a bird sanctuary, cause they'r messy for in the house~but he looked ready and she read that after a big meal sometimes they have trouble flying```

This is for public information purposes only ... several years ago during a downpour rain event, a wall of water rushed down our creek that crosses our land. During a break in the rain, I whent out to check on my horses, and while I was walking on the creek bank, I noticed a very young owl in a snag near the creek shore . This owl was soaking wet and shivering. I got my fish net and captured it, braught it into our house and found an apple crate with a lid, layed down several layers of newspaper in the bottom of the box and put the baby owl in it, then put the box near the floor heating register so the baby owl could get warm. Then I called the raptor rescue who sent out a lady to pick it up within 3 hours. The next day 2 Fish and Game wardens showed up and read the riot act to me and recited the Federal laws that protect raptors and said that I would be fined. I showed them the location of the find of the baby owl and what I did. They then left with a warning to NOT to capture any raptor in the future as it's parents would care and feed it without any human interference. No good deed goes unpunished ! :caf
