Cupboards are bare after your year of garden sabbatical? Can't have that now! Hey, but at least it left you more time for fishing.

I think I am ready to upgrade to a big girl canner now, too. My grandpa bought me my 1950's model National #7 at a yard sale and it was good for learning on, but I can so much now and have so little precious time, I need something to make the work more efficient. Plus for what I've put into gaskets, I could have bought a new one by now! Nothing makes me madder than to get halfway into canning a batch only to realize the gasket is leaking. The new ones don't use gaskets anymore, so that sounds good to me. I've been eyeing this one here, but I'm wondering if maybe it's too much canner, lol. I'd like to be able to keep using it on my ceramic cook top stove (which I know they say is a no-no, but I've done it for years with the old canner, no problem). Just wonder if it would even fit though.

the g/m's mom made a batch of jelly have not had a chance to to taste it yet.... personally not a big jelly and jam person

works great except while it's in use all that junk has to go somewhere usally a corner of the floor....

sorry cat missed part of your post....
did not have to spray them at all, good friend has wild muscadines growing on his dads farm, between his and mine have not seen any disease<black rot>the main reason i got out of growing grapes and of course the deer knowing the day ahead when i was going to pick..

threw my back out yesterday down at work filling the chemical tank, so filled out a accident report, got up this morning nope took the day off, so i sat <okay laid down and checked all my seeds. wrote down the name, who they were purchased from, what year on the package and how many of each. tossed a few of old age or had a couple in it. looks like i will get off fairly cheap next year, but 2019 will be an expensive one, will purchase all new seeds..

Be careful with that back Major. Try to do some stretches every day to keep it limber.

took the girls for a walk, we went into the raised bed area, well looky there.....planted these back in 2013 and they keep coming up every year.
funny they are coming up now... must be a good sign for next year...
