Zinnias are one of my favorite annual flowers to grow but determining wether they are hybrids is a tough thing to do even when they are marked in the description one-way or another. I have seen them marked as a hybrid in one seed store and marked open pollinated in another and it's the same variety. I ordered this zahara double salmon rose zinnia and could never find out for sure if it was a hybrid or not but the seeds are completely different from any other zinnia seed that I have seen. Does anyone have an opinion about wether this variety is a hybrid and if they have seen a zinnia seed that looks like this.

Hmm, yeah, I've only seen them as brown, paper thin, shaped like an arrowhead. Will be curious to see how they turn out.

If you do a search you will see that Zahara zinnias are listed as hybrids.
Just a thought: maybe the seeds are encapsulated for protection, thus the funny banana-looking things. Maybe treated seed?
