Finally got some rain last night, almost 1/2" right at dark thirty. Was glad to see it, everything had started to slow down a little. I did get another row of Zucchini planted. I'm hoping to get all the corn stalks out of the garden, and disc it up I'd like to try to get another 8 rows of purple hulls planted since my Blue lakes have made it this far without any deer trouble. Seems the flagging and coyote pee is doing the trick Lol.

Worked in the Okra a little on Friday, pulled a lot of weeds, even disked In the yellow corn, or at least attempted too. Knocked it down, I'll wait a few days and disc over it again until its gone, then plant some peas on top of it. don't know if you can see them but the Okra is full of yellow blooms. I know why I haven't been seeing the bee's they do their work early In the morning, these blooms were full of bee's working their little tails off In the a.m. By afternoon these blooms had closed up, no bee's.

Our garden is fenced to keep the chickens and dogs out. Deer are everywhere. The dogs keep the deer out, but the dogs don’t go in the 2 1/2 acres where the horses are. It is still pretty wild with under growth and briar vines in there. So that’s where a couple of does stash their fawns. The fawns are safe, but the dogs go nuts when the does are walking around back there. They never bother the garden.

I'm hoping that once we get moved over here, our presence alone will be enough to keep them pushed back just long enough for me to get some peas and beans, then they can have at it Lol. I don't dislike deer at all, matter of fact I love them...with gravy and mashed taters. We are a deer loving family, and I got photographic evidence to prove it......
If these local deer knew how much we really liked them, they'd stay far, far away Lol.

My daughter...the dead eye shot of the family, no joke.
