i've been hiding inside too much lately, but any time i go out and do anything i'm having problems with my arm and knee still and then the lower back is being piddly about things too.

going to be hot and humid today again. one brother and my sister-in-law are coming over in a bit so i won't be doing any gardening today other than a quick walk around.

Current conditions

Temp - 89 Degrees F
Dew Point - 77 Degrees F
Wind - 6 mph
Mostly cloudy - that is helpful
Feels like - 102 F

Fairly typical for here
Those are almost exactly the conditions we had here today - and while a temp of 89 F. is not usual for July, a dew point that high is decidedly not normal here. Really miserable, went out to pick beans & was dripping with sweat 10 minutes later. Most of my crops are heat lovers though, so they are growing like crazy in this heat. I welcome the change from last year, which was rainy, cloudy, and cool all summer... it felt more like an unending Spring.

We've been averaging 73° and that feels hot to me! Sometimes I miss the fog. :cool:Can't imagine your high temps.

Mary

you can acclimate to it eventually, but AC sure makes it easier to take when it gets so humid out.

we have a break this week. highest day forecast is 83F. we had two very good rains yesterday afternoon and i watered good in the morning so everything is set for the next 3-4 days.

i may even get some weeding done, but there's not much left to do as Mom has been trying to keep up with it. thank goodness. i just have to check close under the plants to get what she doesn't see. now that the plants are all getting bigger and casting more shade it will get a lot easier too.

I start to whine when it gets over 70º these days. Right now it's in the mid 80ºs here and I'm hating it. I guess it comes down to what you're used to. When we were in Arizona one year (December) it was in the 70s and we were hitting the swimming pool. The residents thought we were crazy, they were all wearing sweaters.
