majors 2018 garden..

Major, your garden is producing a lot of goodies. It's almost like Easter when you go out in the garden to pick.

Your goards are doing so good, how many do you think you have on the vines? Ours have been growing slow with the cool temps we had earlier this season, and are just now taking off good. I hope that we have enough season left to harvest mature goards this year. Last year the bird house goards did okay and the Corsicans reached full size but were not on the vine long enough to grow thick side walls. I dropped one and it broke in half , I read up on it and it because it did not grow long enough to have thick walls good enough for crafting. I still kept the seeds though. Dehydrated watermelon. (Say whaaat) lol.

Also, what are your thoughts about the Marianas tomatoes, it looks like you guys are still getting some from them.

took the girls for a walk this morning did a recount have 22 as of now, various sizes.... have only done a little reading on how to cure them..

found them back in 2014 since then they are a main tomato for canning, great taste fresh as well the plants get about 3' tall, stay compact and heavy bearers but not all at once..need a good cage system the nice thing about them being determinate once done you pull them up and plant a fall crop like winter squash..

our new addition is the phoenix tomato.

how to put this, the best tasting slicing mator we have ever eaten what a wonderful flavor, firm just the right amount of meat to snot. once ripe holds well in the refrigerator...

they say 8oz mators..boy did they get description wrong ..

@majorcatfish , 22 goards that a nice haul. Also you have a nice long season for them to thicken. Will make long lasting birdhouses. I hang ours in a large old fishing net in the rafters of carport. I have heard of wiping them down with a weak bleach solution but have not tried it. Also leave about 2”-3” of stem on them.

next year will plant more seeds, not like i have a shortage of fences to grow them on...

@majorcatfish with 22 goards you will not have a seed shortage any time soon/ever.
