I know about the silks, I just wanted to know what is the time length from when the corn plant tassels at the top to when I can pick corn.

The peas are blooming and there are a few tiny pea pods forming.

Give orbtake about 2-3 weeks. Depends upon at what stage you pick. With SE varieties I like it harder than most do.

Thanks @seedcorn. I watered the corn this morning, but the heat has the leaves curled this afternoon. It is 105* and we are in the house under the AC. Even Trip our Great Pyrenees is sprawled out in the floor. He usually lays up under the porch during the day. Hot. Hot. Hot. The sheep grazed until 11:30 and have been under their barn all afternoon. We gave them fresh water and sprayed the dirt in the barn to cool them off.

I'll be out at daylight tomorrow to water the corn some more and the tomatoes. The tips of the tomatoes are burnt and a few tips on the cucumbers are burnt, but I think they will pull through.

Ears are starting to form, can't wait to pick some! Tonight I need to water the purple hull peas, their leaves are heat stressed. This is why I normally plant early. The heat makes it hard to keep anything alive, but this summer is hotter than normal. But the weeds are out doing themselves in super growth. Why can't the heat burn them up too? LOL

I'll be glad when next week gets here and it cools down to a high of only 98*:lol:

Hear you on weeds. Understand they have been bred for centuries to endure local weather. With water and nutrients, you are enabling them...

I have little peas! I set the water sprinkler on the peas at 7:00, will let it run until 10 or 10:30.
