Hubs texted me last Monday: "Please take the pink slip for the Ram over to the Dodge dealer in town today, sign it off and give to them. Thanks." Its a 2014, Longhorn Laramie 3500, which we paid cash for in 2015. Only has about 60K miles on it....

WHAT??? What in the heck did he do? Me, after contemplating this for about 30 minutes.

Dear Hubs: You've forgotten about the binding agreement within our separation that neither of us are to dispose of any assets until such time as the divorce is final. Also there is the outstanding debt you owe me. Finally, nothing may be transacted until we have a handle on the arbitration process and have our first appointment. "#13: Prohibits either party from disposing of marital assets and understands that this restraining order is effective immediately."

My nephew called me and since he worked for a Lexus dealership for a few months, he knows the biz. He told me to go straight to the sales manager and talk to him. I went in, asked for the sales mgr, my heart was pounding. my hands sweaty. But since it took 10 min for him to show up, I got calm.

We went into an office where I explained that my husband and I are in the middle of a divorce and that we are under a restraining order not to dispose of any assets. So I would not be bringing in the pink slip. He thanked me and started to call hubs. I stood up, said thank you sir, and started to leave. I heard him Say Hi C! Its Aaron from GP Dodge dealer. Your wife was just here and told me that she won't be turning in the pink slip. Then I barely heard him say, as I was walking slowly away "So you'll have to bring that Toyota Truck back to us ASAP....."

I left the building, my hands were shaking and I started to cry (does anyone know how sick I am of crying??). I called my nephew/sister and they got me calmed down. Said I did the right thing. I was not being "mean" nor 'vindictive" but I was calling him out for breaking the law of the papers that he served me via the sheriff.

Boy oh boy, was my husband furious with me. How humiliating.

Don't mess with me, my love.

Stick to your guns. I would also hide that truck or store it somewhere so it doesnt come up "missing."
I kept everything in my divorce since Im the one who paid for whatever item we got with MY money. Did you call your attorney and tell them? Keep a record of everything.

You were in the right. Your husband just broke the law and committed fraud by purchasing vehicle using the current truck as a trade-in.

Ask your attorney but you probably should send a copy of the restraining order to dealership. Helps your case for divorce and theirs if he doesn't return the Toyota.

My son is an attorney and did divorces for several years. He's now in corporate law but some of the stories he told me are unbelievably stupid. You hang in there girl and stay smart. Divorces are ugly even the simplest are ugly, because of jealousy.

The things DH's ex put us through the first couple of years we were together....
Divorce can continue to be ugly long after it's official.

As soon as I read the first line I said Oh no, he bought a new car and the car with the pink slip is the down payment! So sorry for all the pain and heartache you are going through. Stay vigilant. Glad you caught it and went to the dealer. One day this too shall pass. Sending you a big hug.

Are you out of love with him yet? Whoever he once was, he is no longer that person. Time for you to get deeply, deeply, and CALMLY angry. Do not knuckle down to him. Kudos to you for not caving in. What a selfish jackass.

That sounds like a nice truck. You need to keep that. I'd find a family member to hide it for me or it could disappear while you were gone or asleep.

I bet you are tired of crying, tired of the hurt, tired of the games he is playing. You are the only one who is in control of you. When you let him make you cry, he is taking control and you need to get it back. You certainly don't owe him anything. Be strong. We are here for you to vent when you need to.

I'd sure like to whup his worthless A$$ for you and stomp a mudhole in his face.:somad

I despise my ex. I will attend his funeral so I can spit in the coffin and I will go piss on his grave. ;) yeah, I don't like him.
