My granddaughter said to this evening, paw paw can we go out in the garden? No Hun it's to cold and muddy. But I got chicky boots (rubber boots she uses when we go tend to chickens). Then she said ok can we go play in the sand box then? It's cold out there, are you sure you want to? No I guess not and she frowned. Then she said can we look at garden pictures on your phone? Yep we can do that. So we looked at garden pictures on my phone and it gave me spring fever. I am so ready to start gardening now.

Lovely gardens, CC!!!

I'm not ready for gardening at all! I've got tons to do in the house before spring and time is flying, so I'm dragging my feet towards spring, just praying to get everything done before then so I can walk out to the green yonder without anything weighing on my mind.

I still have to get a good freeze here that's extended for a bit so I can go get some round bales to spread on the garden. I did good to just get the last garden cleaned up and was way late on even doing that. I'm so far behind here that I think I'm first. :D

Here is a photo from about 6 or 7 summers ago. The littles on the left are the grandsons helping Papa and their Dad plant some beans. ;)

I believe in starting them young around here also. I feel it important for them to know where food really comes from (not the grocery store :) ). I'm not much of a flower guy but I sowed this row last year for her. That little girl has her paw paw wrapped around her little finger. She really liked the flowers and would pick a few almost every day to take home and put in a vase.

@Crealcritter she is so CUTE. I Love her PINK Chicky boots ;) My grands call their boot mucking boots. They love the vegetables and will eat green beans, peas and broccoli right from the garden while working there with Papa. Thank you for plant her the zinnias :love

@Crealcritter I see you are following one of out customs, our kids or grandkids are really cute when we have them. I really like her look of self-confidence and she looks thoughtful, she is more than just cute. Do you think she might find it fun (and educational) to save seeds from her favorite colors of zinnias and plant those? They probably will not come back all the same color but that might be part of the fun.
