I think they would survive if they are hardened off. I have had broccoli survive the winter in the garden with no protection. To be on the safe side, Crealcritter could use a low tunnel of the white frost cloth...can't remember the name of it...remax?

@Rammy, I like Fertilome potting mix, too. It is slightly coarser than Pro-mix, but still ok. You can probably get this at any garden center or Lowes. Fertilome is a nation wide brand.
One thing to be aware of, for anybody, is whether your potting mix comes with extra fertilizer or moisture retainers. It would be easy to over-fertilize or over-water baby plants. It will say if it has those additives, on the bag.

Not sure, BUT I think that tender seedlings won't survive, but full sized plants Will. We had a "no winter", 2011-2012, and I had spinach that resurrected itself. We were harvesting it in March.

Pathetic... I will not set out hardy seedlings until I see overnight temps will remain at least 25 degrees or above. Especially onions because they will bolt if exposed to 20 degrees or lower for an extended amount of time.
