It's a sunny but breezy 48 right now. The next two mornings are forecast for a low of 37, then it warms up with highs in the upper 70's. I think this is my last real shot at frost this year so I'll probably transplant pepper and eggplant and maybe plant some corn Wednesday.

Since we like pictures so much I'll show one I just took. In the foreground is lettuce, kale, and chard. The next bed up is my Blue Jay bush snap beans. I probably planted these beans too close but it is my year to experiment with these raised beds. Next time the greens will be planted tighter. The tomatoes are in the bed to the right. I've already cut the grass once but it needs it again.

After Thursday, you should be home free.

The White Lion of March still has its claws into us... it was -15 F. when I left for work this morning, and it will still be below zero tomorrow.

But this weather pales in comparison to the horrible storms racking the South. My prayers for all those in the path of danger.

Yesterday it was -4 when I woke up, a FULL 10 degrees COLDER than the forecast!!!!! :th
Today, it is 15 with a wind chill of around 0. I fed the outside critters already, but I am currently sitting under a heated blanket, getting up the nerve to bundle up and clean stalls. Had to fill and carry water from the basement yesterday bc the heated hose freezes up at 5 degrees or below and was still frozen in the afternoon. Snow scheduled for Thursday, rain and 55 degrees for Friday.
WHO is the IDIOT that believes in Global WARMING?!?!?!?!? :rant:rant:rant

@ducks4you , I wonder why your heated hose is freezing? We have been down to zero and mine hasn't froze. Knock on wood.

Do you mean the hose itself freezes or your faucet connection?
I forgot to rewrap my spigot that the heated hose is connected to the other day and it froze. I stuck the very end of the hose up next to the faucet and rewrapped the bubble wrap and stuck the bucket I use as additional insulation over it and it warmed up enough to use in an hour. Obviously not frozen too seriously fortunately.

The only problem I've had with mine is that it melts the snow and sinks down into it every day. Sometimes it's a little work to get it out.

I load a sled up and haul 5 five gallon buckets to the water troughs. A lot easier on the shoulders than carrying. (My hose isn't long enough to reach the corrals).

Don't know the temp ~ but there is ice where the truck is ~ and a storm is brewing ```

it was sunny yesterday ```

i saw the forecast was for more snow/rains coming for yas. i hope you've enjoyed your short respite/rest. :) i guess there's no worry of you getting lost when you go out because you can't walk off the road/paths you've already dug out?

we're getting pretty cold still overnight and just hints of snow each day. this weekend forcast is for some warmer days above freezing.
