pulled the trigger today

after doing hours upon hours upon hours of research on used suv's mainly the Toyota highlander and the Nissan pathfinder with a little time looking at Honda pilot and Subaru forester.

researching every dealership with in a 45 minute drive of the house that had certified per-owned vehicles, they ranged from $31-35 k with 59-61 k miles on them, of course all of them the warranty has run out, plus reading the carfax reports on them.. a couple where local, some where auction vehicles.

with all this research being done came to a conclusion why cough up all this money for a 3 year old vehicle yes they had all the bells and whistles, that you really had no idea how they were driven over the years or were they in an accident not reported or possibility in a flood or areas that really used salt on the roads during wintertime....

so this morning dw and i went down to the carpet place and looked over floor covering for the laundry room
we have a couple ideas to go with. we need something that will be bullet proof since thats the main entry..

decided since we were out it was time to get the ball rolling, we drove over to the local nissan dealership
bam.... there was a salesman out the door before the engine was off....lol

now before i go any further i have done my research on this one pathfinder and at other dealerships....

i'm not sure what you need to have done, but for a gardener having an old truck around that you don't mind getting dirty is a really nice thing to have.

of course around here it costs $ to insure and license, but the lowest price for insurance and plates, not too bad if it will get used.

we are lucky that my brother has an old truck that we can borrow. we're picking it up this week and going to be hauling wood chips for a few weeks (besides places we want to redo around the yard here Mom also has a friend she will be working on her gardens too).

for the price of getting things delivered those insurance and plate fees are paid for if you're doing more than a few loads.

i've no idea what you might be planning to do this year though in the gardens or ...

Looks nice! And good job knowing what you want and getting it. I like that you bought it price out of the door. That eliminates all the hidden charges that show up. I don't care what the price of the vehicle is, I want to know what to write on the check.

Does it come with a trailer hitch? On the new vehicles they are hidden.

@Ridgerunner yes it comes with a tow package can tow up to 6000 lbs... since being a new car we put full coverage on it, with 3 vehicles on the policy and 2 drivers the price increased 1200 a year.. so once i take care of a few things here that will need a truck will put the truck up for sale and will use that money to purchase a good trailer, dw will be happy to save that 1200.00 so it will be a win win..

yes all those little hidden fees can jack the price way up, might not look like i saved much but they ate all the taxes and fees that was something like 2700.00

now i wouldn't mind driving around, no need to park in the outfield.....

Maybe I can fly you out here next year when I'm ready for my new rig. I hate hate hate dickering. Hate it, I tell you....
