Wow.

That looks like an introduction to agronomy class all in a 16 page pdf file!

Some of our Coop Ex programs have been super good through the years for me. Some of their information has become more difficult to use.

I'm not a horticulturalist. Virginia Tech had these great pictures for identifying weeds. I could "browse" the names (my term for bumbling through ) until I'd happen on an identifying picture. Now, there is a search with a series of plant features like leaf structure and such. I don't know those!!!

Seem to have found a U of Massachusetts guide. The photos aren't nearly as good as in Virginia's but ... I'm a layman! Probably, I should learn to identify leaves and such or search for other sites ...

i'm going to check some of these out today (it is raining and i'm taking the day off to rest up and get some indoor things taken care of).

it will be interesting to see how much of this can be applied via natural means or low tech methods (KISS is my motto :) )... i did note a sustainable section in there so we'll wander through that too for sure.

these are probably a more useful links:

i've had a course in botany many ages ago. we got slightly into plant classifications but i rapidly forget things like that if i don't use them (same with tree leaves and wood identifications). i have a brain that hates to memorize so i tend to pick up on broader themes and hope that if i need details i can find them later.

plant id would be a lot more useful to me if i were in the business. which i am not.

even in my hobby of beans i have a ton of terminology to learn and memorize but it goes very slowly when i keep sidetracking to other topics and current things of interest.
