Old one finally died (deteriorated), so I replaced it with an American made one (Step 2) from Ohio. Easy directions. Problem is that it needs to be 41-45” taller than road surface (their directions even point this out) The plastic 4x4 cover is 39”. Called their “help” desk. I was told to just put rocks at bottom to cover the 2-4” of 4x4. REALLY?

So I wrote a review, explaining all this. Gave them a 3* rating. Review was posted. I got an email from Step 2 that I needed to confirm that I wrote that review. I did. Poof, review deleted from site. Easy way to have only good reviews, delete the bad ones....

To add to my situation, I bought it at Lowe’s, who I found out charged me $10 more than Step 2 charges.....cross Lowe’s off for future purchases....

That's actually why when I look at reviews, I never purchase a product that has only 4-5 star reviews. Especially if it only has 5 stars. Even if it was a perfect product there's going to be someone who has their undies in a twist over the color or a paint chip or the website they found it on, and rate it 1 stars. If it's all good reviews, it's all fake.

I'm sorry you had this happen to you. :( There really needs to be more honesty in the world.

Reviewed product on Lowes site as well. Same thing happened. Review was there UNTIL I confirmed, then poof, GONE.

we don't even have a mailbox here. too many kids beating them up. for years we had a real winner in the neighborhood who was harrassing other neighbors and then somehow he thought we had something to do with that too so he started messing around here too. put an end to that quick, but what a pain in the ass. i don't think anyone missed them once they moved out. i hope he got help that he clearly needed - otherwise he was headed for prison life. *sigh*

It is really tough when someone is just plain crazy.

Picture on the box is not what you end up with....
Unless your spot is 2-4” higher than the road. Mailbox is to be 41-45” higher than street. They cover 39” of post, leaving 2-6” uncovered. When I called, I was told to put 2-6” of rock to cover rest of 4x4. Really? When I explained that the picture is misleading, response was, “we’ve always done that.” So much for “American made”. Looks like 1970 Japanese junk.... Plus Lowe’s charges more than suggested retail price-my bad...

This is exact quote of review. Does this seem out of line?
