We were literally scoffing at this tropical Low, as we have had so many storms dump at least this much, and one system even filled the gauge. I was watching a story about how Lake Mead is down to basically 40%. I thought of what must have caused the dust bowl conditions a century ago. I hope it does not happen again.
Weather conditions seem to be extreme one way or the other lately. Balance is off. :(

Lake Mead is at about 35.6 % with 9.22 maf in storage.
Lake Powell is at about 34.7 % with 8.44 maf in storage. the rivers feeding Lake Powell are running at 17.93% of the Jun 20th average. in the past 20yrs only 2002 was worse (so far).

it sprinkle this morning for an hour or so. Did not get wet under trees and did not put anything in rain gauge :(

something better than nothing. i'll keep hoping you get some more direct rains soon. :)

this coming week we have two nights forecast to get down into the 40sF, 43 and 49. a bit cool for this time of the year but we'll take it. right now they have the forecast for this evening to be more rain, but the sunshine is out now so that's good. everything can use the sun today.

Lake Shasta is a river in many places now. Lake Oroville is almost low enuf to shut down the generator plant that has been running since 1967. All of Silicon Valley is on drought alert. I'm sure we are getting nasty looks at the green grass at this house here in Santa Clara that we are remodeling and will list for sale in July.

Up in Medford, the fires have started. The irrigation ditches that supply water to farmers has to be turned off periodically to conserve water for the salmon in the rivers. Its has been and is going to be 99 - 100 for almost a week up there. It was very very hot here too.

(no AC in this house that we're working on). I liked Bay's idea of spraying the bed before setting lin.
