Coffee

i'm pretty picky about coffee and even if some people might turn up their nose at instant coffee i can at least get it down. what i can not get down is coffee that has sat on a burner for very long. from the time i brew a cup (if i'm not using instant) to the time it is down the hatch is usually ten minutes or less. after that i want to take a pot off any heat and get it into a sealed container to cool off and then refridgerate it. the smell of really stale or burned coffee turns my stomach.

coffee grounds, i'm glad to say do not bother me nearly as much, when i was planting onions the other day i noticed the compost they'd used for seed starting or potting up probably had some coffee grounds in it as i could smell them from time to time as i was going along getting the starts in the ground.

On my first cup of coffee. Y’all help yourselves. I’ve been outside and fed animals already. Church this morning, then I have no plans for any work. I’ll pile into everything tomorrow.

Wheaties with banana and raisins. Oolong. For the first time in months, no herbal tea in the kettle. Early morning drive to the garden to run the water. May hit 90°f (32°C) on 3 afternoons this week. Breezes picking up beginning this afternoon so can't burn too much daylight sitting in the lazyboy. Coffee on the run.

Tomorrow there will be a drive to pick up Garbanzo the Dog while DD takes a vacation. Hopefully, it won't be unbearably hot for a little garden work on a non-watering day.

Coffee! Almost done with second cup. Then get dressed and get morning chores done. Taking truck to body shop this morning to get hail damage fixed. Had to clean it out yesterday. My husband had it crammed with all sorts of things, and I haven’t touched them in almost 2 years, just couldn’t. There was an orange 3-way electrical plug on the dash. I needed one and rather than get that one, I bought another one.

I very much enjoyed listening to this lovely lady speaking about her life in the 1800's

Back when she believed the first advocardo tree was planted in her then home I think they called it the alligator fruit

I'm drinking the not so healthy dandelion and burdock pop from the supermarket. It doesn't taste as good as it used to but it's sure hitting the spot on this hot afternoon 😋

Had to look that up... wow, that's a real thing. Have to put that on my list of things to try if I ever get across the pond.

You don't have to go across the pond to get it; the Fentiman's brand is sold right here in the US, at both some supermarkets and (almost certainly) online. There's another brand as well (don't remember the name) but that one I think they only sell in "health" and "green" supermarkets.

How cool is that! I've heard of dandelion tea and danliion wine, but not a soda!
