I bred my doe to the buck on the 16th of this month. I wasn't sure whether it took but she's starting to show some attitude and getting territorial when I try to pet her so I'm hoping for some new bunnies in a few weeks.

Fingers crossed! Don't even think about telling us when they are born- if you don't have pics!!! There is nothing more adorable than a baby wabbit!

This morning she was carrying hay around in her mouth but she seems a little confused on what she's supposed to do with it. Too early to put in a nest box.

hoodat,

Usually when the mother rabbit is getting ready to have the little bunnies, she'll take pieces of her own fur to line the nests. Yeah I would put the nestbox in now, so she'll feel more comfortable with it.

I have an attached shelter box on the cage. As warm as it will be when she has them that shoud sufffice. I try to have a hiding place on each cage so they can hide when they feel the urge. I'll fill it with straw when she gets around day 25 and hopefully she'll build her fur nest in that. This is her first kindling but she seems to have the right ideas. I'm hoping she'll get it right the first try.

I've never heard them called popples before. Is that a regular term for the babies?

I've never heard that as a term for baby bunnies either. When I was a kid, there used to be a line of stuffed toys called Popples.

Sounds exciting hoodat, our does seem to only pull their fur out an hour or two before kindling. Not sure if it is normal or not that is why we are never there when the kitts come. Good luck with it.
