Here's a picture of some baby doves in my Dove aviary outside by the garden. Aren't they cute?

Thanks lesa, Yes they do stay outdoors in winter. I usually have to cover the aviary with plastic to protect them from the cold.

How interesting! Are they just "pets" or do you do something with them. A fellow around here does the racing pigeons...Would love to see a pic of the aviary.

Yes, their just pets. I find their cooing sounds relaxing to hear. That is neat to get into racing pigeons.

Nice Ringneck Doves.
I had some at one time, there hardy little birds and take below freezing temps.
When the price drops on them this fall I may have to get some again I liked having them around.

Nice! I've got a 12 week old ringneck I found fallen from his nest in my goat pen. I handfed him and he decided to become a pet. You never would expect doves to have so much personality and intelligence, I'm surprised to find he's a lot like a parrot without the biting and moodiness.

We raised two baby doves ( at different times). Doves are rather careless nest makers, and each baby had fallen from the nest into the parking lot at my moms office. Neither of them had feathers, and their eyes weren't "open" yet. But we raised them successfully and they hung around the property for about a week after they learned how to fly. The first one loved my husband and when he would come out of the house would fly on to his head or shoulder.
