They are buying up seeds so they can work on patenting anything and everything, so they have control over all seeds via genetic patents. I avoid them like the plague.

I grew the podding radishes, they were good, the pods were bigger than usual - they're all edible. I think mine were called rat-tail radishes.

For cutting flowers, I'd go with zinnias, cosmos, etc. They may get a bit leggy in the shade, though, so you'll have to provide a bit of support. Larkspur would do well, too. Much better to get some more light in there, somehow, limbing the trees or somesuch. I'm surprised beans did well...

Yes it does self-sow vigorously, but I love it, and so do the honeybees, as well as all the other pollinators. It's a great plant to have as a 'weed' ;)
