On the Rada knives I don't think there's any glue since there is no wood. I like that about them too. I bought a basic set and added a grapefruit knife and a different paring knife. Haven't had to sharpen them yet and have used them daily.

I just recently found out there is such a thing as industrial strength sharpie markers, available only online. I'm going to order some and see if my markers can last the whole season.

I just replaced all of mine with Rada about four months ago and love them. The are affordable, attractive, and the sharpest knives I've ever owned.
