Would this kind of pumpkin be good for pies? People keep asking me what I'm going to do with it.

When I planted it I used a bunch of manure mixed with the soil. Then I used Fox Farm's liquid fertilizer called "Grow Big". I also used some fish emulsion stuff that smells terrible. I didn't really use any fertilizer once the pumpkin set because I was afraid of using too much nitrogen.

Thanks everyone. It was really fun. Maybe I should have waited to post until the 15th but I was just so excited that I actually grew something. I can't wait til next year now.

Here is my pumpkin! It weighed in at 83 lbs.! I was very excited. I tried to measure it but my measuring tape only goes to 60 in. That's my husband in the last picture.

I've had one cherry tomato ripen but the rest of my tomatoes are totally green, not even a hint of pink. Hopefully that will change soon. I feel very fortunate to live in an area where vegetables are pretty easy to grow even with a short growing season. Way to persevere though ChemGirl.
