I did some weeding and checked on the beans to cull any plants who were not up to scratch.

I won't lie the beds were actually already there so I used them rather than start from scratch, I invested in a trapezoidal hoe and it is magnificent I can weed the rows in minutes without harming my back :) Thank you the desert peas are difficult but so rewarding when they flower.

That is half the fun, I might not get what I am looking for but I'm happy with anything. I think with bean seed coats you can get so many wonderful combinations it really feels like a creative canvas.

A fair question and simply put I'd rather a lighter purple than a dark purple or I would have used Anderson's Wonder which is a large Aubergine purple seed, plus Blooming Prairie and the others have purple pods which is another trait that would be nice. I want to see how the color is inherited...

@flowerweaver Tepary beans are brilliant like that, I can plant them at the start of the season and get a good crop without watering them just going off soil moisture.

@journey11 You got some very very nice beans. The Mt.Pima Burro & Caballito as well as the Annellino Giallo are lovely and Blooming Prairie is such a lovely color I could never eat it and it is productive :)
