I don't know why a hollowed out log wouldn't work. As long as you put some drainage holes in it. I'm no expert though.

I won't transplant them. I dint think they'd grow in our dirt since its mostly sand. They will stay in the pots. I am hoping they will run up the columns of the back patio.

I moved them to the garage on top of our stand up deep freezer. It's about 75 degrees on top. Going to try that out and see what happens. If this doesn't work then I'll have to go to plan b. I'm not quite sure what that is yet.
