Yes, I know exactly where Talledega is! It's in East/Central Alabama while I live in West/Central Alabama. I've never heard anything about Talledega cucumbers? I do know if we ever plant any, we always have more than we can manage. Lol.

It goes dormant here. My dad's banana trees and elephant ears go dormant every winter and come back every Spring.

U Here in Alabama, we're blessed with some beautiful native species. Anyone have anything beautiful native to where you live? Anyone have pictures to share?? I spotted these gorgeous pink and white Mountain Laurels growing all along the lake where we live. Native species are my favorites. :)

Elephant ears are invasive along the riverbanks in Alabama. You basically can't kill the things around here. Lol...

Yes, they are terrible! They're extremely aggressive and the sting is so bad! I'm allergic to both wasps and Yellowjackets. But the Yellowjackets aren't nearly as sneaky as the wasps because they'll build a big nest in the ground and the hive will have thousands of members, making it easier...

And yes, very easy! I only water when the blossoms start to droop.. I've never had any problems with pests or diseases. They're gorgeous while my cool wave pansies are covered in powdery mildew. :mad:
