What I Learned after Quitting Tea

I find I need a little bit of carbs with my coffee in the morning. Maybe a biscotti with my omelette.

I have a GREAT crop of.......

The more I watch and observe the creatures around me, the more fascinating they become. I learned alot watching my little flock of chickens, as well as the snakes who live here. As far as the spiders are concerned, maybe pheromones? Or the warmth of the sun. But still, to find the exact...

I have a GREAT crop of.......

Mainly by their preferences. They can be quite stubborn with their likes and dislikes. And the distance they travel to stay in a preferred spot. The one on the burn pile, for instance...I had put her on the rose bush. I had relocated her to the rose bush from another location, as the dh was...

I have a GREAT crop of.......

L.I.B. The spider I relocated away from the burn pile.....I found her right back in her spot today. Same spot she had previously. The spider I found originally over the animal burrow...relocated 2x.....I found her right back over the burrow. Now, said resident of the burrow...turned out to...

I have a GREAT crop of.......

The time has come to say good bye to this years crop of garden spiders. I DID locate #4, the one I put on the rose bush. I am beginning to think they don't like roses. I found her WAAAAY out back, all set up by the burn pile. all fat and loaded again with eggs. I moved her to the very...

    start to a new interest.....

I've never done the bee thing, but I stayed down in the Ozarks with my great aunt and uncle. They had bees, chickens, some cows out back..and raised wonderful strawberries every summer. They were my first introduction to bees. I stayed there total for 2.5 years. I would just walk through the...

    Chickens are gone

BYC is where I started, back in 2011. I have learned much since then. But I doubt I can have chickens at the new place. The lot is just not large enough, to support anything but a flower garden.

    Chickens are gone

I know right?! Raymore MO is a suburb of Kansas City MO. Many of the population came from the city life....and prefer an HOA over a small flock of chickens. I can attest (I am total city girl), that the majority of city dwellers are clueless as to the life of a chicken. And prolly...

    Sunflower seeds moldy

Do you have a sunny dry porch? or window? I bagged the heads using paper bags, hung them upside down, twisted wire around the stem and the bag...and left them there to hang dry through the winter.

    Another member relocating.

"SOLD!!!"...the neighbor across the road....his uncle wanted it. But then, it is also a 5 speed, and not many youngsters know how to drive one. I wasn't planning on posting on CL or FB. Heard too many horror stories.

I have a GREAT crop of.......

Awww gee......I am down to 3 garden spiders. :hit The 2 on the potting shed, and one just catty corner on the house siding. No dead bodies either. I suspect, either the frogs ate them, or the lizards finally got big enough to eat them.
