Is there a way to can cabbage?

A couple of years ago I was on a canning forum where there was a running argument about canning cabbage and whether it became sauerkraut after you canned it. I don't think either side ever relented in the least about it. I know there were people on there who canned it and CALLED it...

    Pond Plant ID Help

I bow to your superior duckweed knowledge since we only had a pond for about 2 years before it turned into a slimy doggie swimming pool and had to be removed. It's possible that what I thought was duckweed was something else all together or that I remember the plants incorrectly.

There are about a half dozen species of duck weed. I'm not sure if any of them have stems but some are much larger than apple seeds.

Is there a way to can cabbage?

My understanding has always been that cabbage gets a really unpleasant tase and texture if it's canned plain.

Strawberries... had to cancel an order

Everbering do get runners. I'm not sure if they were more or less than June bering but they DO get runners. Also you can mow the plants down after they fruit and remove the "mothers" that causes the "daughters' to become stronger.

    Berry seeds?

I picked up a little kit at TSC that had a pot, soil and strawberry seeds. It was for the GD but then someone else got her one too so I planted it. It only had 5 seeds in it! Last night my neice asked me about planting strawberries from seed and I handed it to her and wished her good luck.

Call your county extension office and ask what they get for a soil test. It's only $7 here.

    Any ideas on attracting bees?

You might want to look into Mason bees. They don't produce honey but they do all the pollinating like honey bees do.

My GD grew a great cherry tomato plant in a big pot last summer. I think it was a Sweet 100.
