@saritabee I have a lot of the little wedding favor bags and don't think I've reused any yet but you bring up a good point. I think maybe putting them in a bowl of water, stick it in the microwave and bring it to a boil would do the trick. Less wear and tear then washing them.
Here's ours for the next few days...
Saturday and Sunday looks like we will have a frost but not a killing one, fingers crossed for Ralph's Italian, it's been reported to have a bit of frost resistance, let's hope so.
We still have a Diefenbunker here, I think most of these built across Canada have been destroyed the one here just had all the equipment removed and sealed but not destroyed.
Although I very young I remember WW2, even here in Canada, ration stamps for things like sugar butter, meat, tea and coffee. Blackouts, couldn't show a light after dark. I remember dad tacking up black paper on some of the windows and we were issued gas masks, a neighbor and good friend was...
Really sad isn't it. History is history, there's both good and bad, hopefully we learn from both. Sweeping the bad under the rug, pretending it never happened is going down the wrong path. If all is erased what stops future generations from repeating past mistakes.
Was the sauce anything like this...
A tin of Anchovy Fillets
A good pour of Olive Oil
1-2 Garlic Cloves finally minced
A few sprigs of Parsley finely chopped
Mozzarella in carrozza is traditionally served just like this, perhaps with lemon wedges on the side. But I like to gild the lily by...
Me too Carol, other than a little seasoning before grilling, no sauce for me.
@majorcatfish when you finally run out of your favorite sauce look at the ingredients and maybe using the original A1 add a few of the ingredients in the sweet chili garlic to change it into the one that has become...
@Ridgerunner I can already see seeds forming in a couple of the pods when back lite by the sun so thought if I took the other pods off all the energy would go into helping the seed mature. They wouldn't go to waste we'd eat em':).
A question for you seed savers...
Would it help to remove all the pods from a cluster of pods that don't have a chance of making seed before the weather turns. lf all the nourishment goes into the one or two pods that are swelling would it make a difference?

"I'm considering draping a plastic sheet over it to try to keep it warmer."
It will also keep the rain off, I've got a clear plastic umbrella over some Ralph's Italian pods right now ;). I've used this method several times in the past with good results.
