Interesting note: a neighbor told me when he lived in Uvalde, there were fields of thistles grown on purpose and harvested. Because the stems store water, they are used in shampoo to “hydrate” hair. I had no idea….

Tornadoes waltz across Texas too. Plus hurricanes spin off tornadoes. One in northeast Texas some years back stayed on the ground over 40 miles, cutting a wide path of destruction. Mostly in rural areas, it even picked up cattle and dropped them in other pastures.
