It is 80* today! Which is a heatwave for us. Good thing we have a window ac unit that keeps our bedroom very pleasantly cooled. It's where I read and watch tv so spend plenty of time there.

Last year Praire Fire did really well for me. It's sweet and pretty! Actually all of my tomatoes did really well like Black Krim, Japanese Triefle, Dr. Whycee's Yellow, Terra Cota, and Berkeley Tie Dye.
This year none of them are doing as well. Part of the problem is that I moved them...

Welcome from the San Francisco bay area. Do you plan on getting chickens? They are a wonderful addition to have. I have 4 hens and quite a number of fruit trees and veggies in my small city garden lot.

Steve, sounds like your dad made huevos rancheros with the corn tortillas and fried egg on top.
Sweet corn tamales are great in the afternoon with a cup of coffee.

I made the mistake of not reading on how to harvest garlic. I hosed off the dirt and left it in the sun for a few days to dry. Well it started getting moldy and soft. I was able to save half of it.

Just caught up on this thread. Sentry sure has gone feeling bad for a long time. Does the vet think it was worms all this time and now hopefully Sentry will be cured? I sure hope so. So glad he has you to take care of him.

Major, I trim my tomatoes also to 1 leader but mid season I start to slack off. If I trim as much as you my tomatoes get sunscald.
BTW I only check notifications when I'm here. Very rarely do I check What's New. I've been missing your posts. Is there a way I can see the notifications...
You just started harvesting your zucchini? Yeah I've been picking them for a while now. Need to start shredding and freezing. But my eggplants only have flowers and jalapenos are not growing as fast or robust as in past years.
