@heirloomgal
I consider the season to be a success, especially the bush beans, they gave me a lot of beautiful seeds.
Unfortunately, not all climbing beans wanted to cooperate with me. Some of them grew very nicely, and suddenly the tops of the shoots curled into springs, and then the entire...
@heirloomgal, Frauenbohne is definitely a bush bean, but the plants are quite tall compared to others.
I grew Dead Man's Tooth as a network bean in 2021. All 11 plants grew as true bush. I sowed the remaining seeds from the sample the following year and it was similar.
My pitiful Floreta seeds I collected last year have also sprouted and the plants are starting to climb. Maybe this year I will be able to collect more better quality seeds.
@heirloomgal , we have Genoll de Crist seeds from the same source and it's good to know that there are problems with their...
Yes, when the pines dusted everything was yellow, as if covered with sulfur. I thought my friend at work was going to sneeze to death because he's allergic.
I also planted Peau de Vache Normande in the pot. It was supposed to be bush bean but it turned out that it is not quite stable yet. In the pot it began to climb strongly. The seeds have retained their color but are smaller and thinner. The shape resembles the seeds of one of the parent...
My first harvest this year. Beans planted in pots to multiply the number of seeds.
Quaker Bush - all the leaves have fallen off and the plant has finished growing.
Lillooet - there were only four pods, but that's 16 more seeds. The plant is blooming again.
Buddha's Bellybutton - It's a...
I'm also starting, the weather forecasts are promising and therefore I will not be making seedlings this year. I plan to put the previously sprouted seeds directly into the holes in the ground. I will cover the rows with a layer of black compost earth, they will warm up faster.
Last year I received several Mongeta del Ganxet ecotypes from Catalonia. The seeds of some of them were more curved, others less. The one shown by @heirloomgal is Mongeta del Ganxet d'en Serafi, the most similar to cashews. I grew the bush version, more like a kidney bean, and the pods were...
@Bluejay77, beans grow in 3-4 liter pots. Poles are usually hazel sticks, nothing special. Generally, I don't plant pole beans in pots, but when a plant starts to climb, it's a pity to throw it away :)
Meanwhile on the windowsill...
The oldest Lillooet pods are filling up nicely with seeds.
Peau de Vache Normande - it was supposed to be a bush bean but it started climbing. I think I planted a crossed seed, although I got information that this bean may not be completely stable.
Quaker...
I will be growing Buddha's Bellybutton this year. In February I put the seed in the pot to finally determine the type of growth. The bean grows as a true bush, there are already small pods.
@heirloomgal
These are bush and semi-runner beans that I only have 10 seeds or less. Growing in pots serves to multiply the seeds before I sow them outside.
